Description
As the weather gets warmer, continue to show your support for our immigrant communities with a Melt the Ice Keychain. Note that because these are part of my zero-waste efforts, the exact shade of red will vary depending on what remnants are available. It will be all natural fiber, likely merino or another soft, smooth wool.
The Melt the Ice “hats” on these keychains are approximately 2 inches tall and the braided tassels are another 2.5″ long
Add them to your keychains or display them as a bag charm.
$5 from each keychain/bag charm will be donated to mutual aid efforts for our immigrant communities

From Yarn Cult, the original “Melt the Ice” pattern author:
In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design.
All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to the immigrant aid agencies who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE.
